2009 Pursuit Hill Climb #2

Cabbie how is it possible that you look cool all the time. Climbing and rapping on a mountain and bringing it home in style. SCORE….

2009 Pursuit Hill Climb #1

Here’s mud in your eye Stefan. The hill climb by far has to be one of the more difficult challenges of the 2009 Pursuit. Many teams struggled to complete the climb let alone the repel. Those who took time to look around saw a spectacular view of the Loch.

2009 Pursuit – Zap Cat 3

One might think the Zap Cat race was a powerboat race, but from the looks of it many guys were in the water swimming for their lives.

2009 Pursuit – Zap Cat 2

The race got competitive as a few teams ran over some of their international friends, fortunately everyone just got wet. Looks like Matt (event coordinator) was planning his strategy.

2009 Pursuit – Archery Part 1

Draw Your Bow Great Prince!
Everyone finally has gathered around Eilean Donan castle for the archery contest. It would appear team sirius / XM got SERIOUS and showed their fellow competitors they were ready for battle. Apparently looks can be deceiving because at first glance they did not appear to be worthy. They proved with great spirit to be worthy.

The 2009 Drambuie Pursuit Teams

Competitors Get Ready. Let the photo galleries begin.

Things have calmed a bit and finally Club1745.com is ready to upload images & video vignettes each day. Each team participating in the 2009 Drambuie Pursuit grabbed their shield and were ready to conquer the challenges. It appears some look fierce while others look perplexed. Maybe an early tactic?

Pursuit Competitors at Culloden Battlefield

Hello to everyone who attended the 2009 Drambuie Pursuit. It was a pleasure meeting all of you during the past few days in Scotland.
I haven’t quite made it back to the states, but wanted to throw up a couple quick photos for you to see. I thought I would start with just a couple from our trip to the battlefield and Eilean Donan.

Give me a few days and I will start putting up more images and video not only from the battlefield, but from the weekend. Sorry in advance if I happened to miss anyone, sure not intentional. I have lots of photos to share so hopefully I can get on the ball. Again, I look forward to your thoughts, comments and maybe even a hell yah!
Cheers… Rodrick

Below is a story in today’s Daytona Beach News-Journal about a local team from Central Florida that is competing in the Drambuie Pursuit.

The stairwell at a parking garage might not be as scenic as the Scottish Highlands.A rag-stuffed cardboard box might not make as glamorous an archery target as a bull’s-eye array outside an Inverness castle.

But three local athletes have been running up and down local staircases and slinging arrows at cardboard boxes in their backyards — in preparation for the 2009 DRAMBUIE Pursuit.

Jim and Naomi Nichols of DeLand, and Jeff Petit of New Smyrna Beach depart today on an all-expense paid trip to Scotland to compete in a grueling eight-stage competition based on the legend behind the liqueur.

Mountain bike racing, rock climbing, white-water rafting, off-road buggy driving and archery are among the challenges the three Volusia County residents face against five other teams along a 100-mile course across mountaintops and through valleys.
