Hello to everyone who attended the 2009 Drambuie Pursuit. It was a pleasure meeting all of you during the past few days in Scotland.
I haven’t quite made it back to the states, but wanted to throw up a couple quick photos for you to see. I thought I would start with just a couple from our trip to the battlefield and Eilean Donan.
Give me a few days and I will start putting up more images and video not only from the battlefield, but from the weekend. Sorry in advance if I happened to miss anyone, sure not intentional. I have lots of photos to share so hopefully I can get on the ball. Again, I look forward to your thoughts, comments and maybe even a hell yah!
Cheers… Rodrick
The Drambuie on Ice powerboat took no prisoners during its stint as National Super Cat Champion in 2002. Grab a Drambuie on the rocks and check out some of the action.
Drambuie has sponsored its share of unique sporting events, but in 2003, the company partnered with the World Ice Golf Championship to host the most challenging golf competition in the world. Replete with polar bears, glistening glaciers and minus 40-degree temperatures, 20 inches of ice separated golfers from the frigid depths of the Arctic Ocean.
The 36-hole competition was played over two days in Uummannaq, Greenland and hosted an international field of professional and pro-celebrity golfers – all with a handicap of 18 or better. Glaciers replaced bunkers, ice replaced greens and red balls added color to an otherwise bereft landscape.
Scotland’s answer to American Gansta Rap could very well be the Red Hot Chili Pipers. It’s not everyday that you meet bagpipers with attitude, but the winners of the BBC show “When Will I be Famous” are known for their blazing hot rock shows. The Pipers performed at last year’s Pursuit and are scheduled to return in 2009. For more information about the band, check out the Pipers’ official web site!
